The “Music in the Park” series is back again this year, with weekly concerts.  Events will be held every Thursday, starting May 30th and running through August 29th, with the exception of July 24th due to Kolacky Days. All events start earlier this year at 6:00 p.m. and are held in Memorial Park- 500 5th Street SE at the bandstand.

 

The Park Advisory Board has assembled an excellent line-up featuring a variety of music. The line-up includes the following:

 

May 30 th – Tri City United Pep Band- Led by Ms. Sara Costello, the TCU Titan pep band will be performing many of their standard rousers.

June 6th- Colton Tupy and the Sand Creek Connection- Colton and the members of the Sand Creek Connection return for another year playing a variety of polka, waltz, and country standards.

June 13th- Sawyer’s Dream- Sawyer’s Dream is back for another year with their unique cross-blending of Americana, Pop, Rock and Soul. Their vocal harmonies are reminiscent of bands such as the Mamas & the Papas, ABBA and Fleetwood Mac. Their all-original music is engaging, upbeat and earthy, offering the listener a modern take on the classic rock of the ’60s and ’70s.  For more information on Sawyer's Dream, visit www.sawyersdream.com

June 20th- Hannah Bretz- Hannah Bretz is a jazz vocalist in Saint Peter, Minnesota. Her jazz ensemble features talented musicians from around Southern Minnesota. June 27th- Sean Benz- Montgomery’s own, Sean Benz, returns to Music in the Park playing a wide range of rock and roll from the 1950’s to the 1970’s.  For more information on Sean Benz and the Misfits, visit https://m.facebook.com/seanbenzmusic/

July 4th- Loose Gravel- A local band playing a mix of rock, classic country, and folk.

July 11th- American Housewife- American Housewife plays a collection of original rock music with a pop bent. They also toss in a few covers. Find them on Spotify at American Housewife.  Find them on Spotify at American Housewife.

July 18th- The Solid Gold Band- The Solid Gold Band is a professional Twin Cities band and recording artist playing danceable classic rock/variety music for any occasion. In presenting the “Soul of Rock and Roll” show, we feature the great music of rock’s first four decades. The group’s current version represents one of Minnesota’s longest running active rock bands and has been nominated to the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame.  For more information on The Solid Gold Band, visit www.thesolidgoldband.net

August 1st- The Jolly Huntsmen- Returning to music in the park after a couple years off, The Jolly Huntsmen perform traditional polkas and waltzes in authentic Bavarian costumes.  For more information on The Jolly Huntsmen, visit www.jollyhuntsmen.com/

August 8th- Brandon Stout- Brandon is a solo artist making his first appearance here in Montgomery. He plays a wide range of folk, rock, and alternative music.  For more information on Brandon Stout, visit www.brandonraystout.com/

August 15th- The Echo’s - A Music in the Park staple, the Echo’s are a classic “Big Band” group playing the hits of the 40’s in the style of Glenn Miller and other dance bands of the era.

August 29th- Little Chicago - Little Chicago, based in New Prague, Minnesota, is a horn cover band for hits of the 1960s and 1970s, and has been performing in the Twin Cities since 1999. It features hits by such famous groups as Chicago, Blood, Sweat & Tears, The Grass Roots, the Union Gap, the Bee Gees, The Dave Clark Five, Dusty Springfield, and more.  For more information on Little Chicago, visit www.littlechicagoband.wordpress.com
