GENERAL ELECTION INFORMATION

The City Elections Office is located where City Residents vote at:  American Legion  – 102 Elm Ave SW Montgomery MN  56069.  Filings can be made with the City Clerk during normal business hours.

For general election information, contact the City Elections office at 507-364-8888 or go to the Elections & Voting on the Minnesota Secretary of State's website (http://www.sos.state.mn.us/elections-voting). There you can see a list of the races that will be on your ballot, get information on voter registration, and even find candidate information. If you do not live in the City Limits, you can use this link below to find your polling place.

2024 Minnesota Elections   
The dates for the 2024 elections are:

March 5,2024          The Presidential Nomination Primary (PNP) Election

March 12,2024              Township Elections 

August 13, 2024             The Primary Election

November 5, 2024         General Election Day

Sample Ballot

To see a sample ballot, go to the Secretary of State website's poll finder. Enter your address in the poll finder to see your sample ballot.  The poll finder will also list your poll location, a list of candidates and your voting districts.

One of the best ways to participate in Montgomery’s local government is by voting. The City Clerk-Treasurer oversees all aspects related to holding elections, including polling location, voter registration, election judges, and candidate filing.

Qualifications for Voting                                                     Register on Election Day

You may register and vote in Minnesota on the next Election Day if you:

  • will be at least 18-years-old on Election Day
  • are a citizen of the United States
  • will have resided in Minnesota for 20 days immediately preceding Election Day
  • have any felony conviction record discharged, expired, or completed
  • are not under court-ordered guardianship where a court has revoked your voting rights have not been ruled legally incompetent by a court of law
