Park Rules

Rules and regulations governing the usage of the City Park System are found within Section 1050 of City Code. For more detail, please reference the actual city code, but below is a summary of the rules and regulations currently followed by the city. 

  • Parks are open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. unless prior approval is obtained from the City.
  • Vehicles are permitted only upon designated roadways or paths and parking lots. Snowmobile regulations may differ.
  • No dogs or cats are permitted unless leashed.  Pet owners are responsible for pickup and removal of animal waste.
  • No hunting, molesting, harming, frightening, killing, trapping, chasing, teasing, shooting or throwing missiles at any animal or bird in or within 100 feet of the park.
  • No picking or harming of the natural grasses, flowers, trees or other plants that are located within the park.
  • No person shall dig or otherwise disturb grass areas.
  • No feeding or offering of food to any animals or birds in any park or within 100 feet of the park.
  • It is unlawful for any person to consume, or possess beer, wine or liquor unless permission has been granted or licensed by the City or allowed by City Code.
