Home Improvements Program

Not sure where to begin with your home improvement projects?  The residents of Montgomery have a few different options that homeowners may want to pursue for funding.  The following loan programs are available for qualified homeowners through the Center for Energy and Environment (CEE) and the Minnesota Valley Action Council (MNVAC) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development:

Center for Energy and Environment

Center for Energy and Environment (CEE) is a nonprofit organization that promotes energy efficiency to strengthen the economy while improving the environment.  CEE conducts research and develops programs so that businesses operate more efficiently and profitably; Government agencies and nonprofits spend less on facilities and functions; Utilities achieve their energy-efficiency goals at least-cost; and Households save money and improve comfort.

Home improvement programs available for residential properties in Montgomery are either the Home Energy Loan Program or the Minnesota Fix-Up Fund Loan Program.

Minnesota Valley Action Council

Minnesota Valley Action Council (MNVAC) is a community action agency. We are for communities, not for profit. We are a private organization that has served south central Minnesota since 1965.

MVAC provides services in Blue Earth, Brown, Faribault, Le Sueur, Martin, Nicollet, Sibley, Waseca, and Watonwan counties.  We believe that hard work should be valued and rewarded, that working people are struggling and that MVAC provides solutions.  We develop resources and opportunities that empower people in low-wage work to secure affordable housing, viable transportation, employment, training for employment and educational opportunities for children.

Home improvement programs available to Le Sueur County residents include Rehabilitation Loan Program, Fix Up Fund and Rental Rehab Loan Program.
