2023 Czech May Day

Sunday, May 7, 2023, noon – 5:00 p.m.

Heritage Park (corner of First Street N and Vine Ave) in historic downtown Montgomery.

Featuring the St. Paul Czech and Slovak Folk Dancers, Sokol Minnesota Children and Teen Czech and Slovak Folk Dancer

Raising of the traditional Czech May Pole and ribbon dances

Music by the Czech Area Concertina Club

Authentic pork, dumpling, and kraut meal served by the Miss Czech-Slovak MN Pageant Committee; vomacka and zelnicky provided by the Veseli Area Lions; and párek v rohlíku – Czech Hot Dogs available

Pivo – Czech beer (Czech Pilsner brewed by Montgomery Brewing Company, and Czechvar)            

Visit with Marit Lee Kucera, Honorary Consul for the Czech Republic in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota & South Dakota

Children’s May Pole, face painting, and other children’s activities

Genealogy with George Mikiska and Czech merchandise at the Czech Heritage Club booth.  Bake Sale.  Classic Car Roll-in.
