Farmland Access Hub - Networking Event

Please join the Farmland Access Hub and partners this Sunday, September 10th for a day of networking and learning about financial and technical resources in your region.

This event will provide opportunities to:

• Learn more about the Farmland Access Hub and Navigator program
• Learn about financing options and alternative/collaborative methods of accessing land
• Expand knowledge about Agricultural Conservation Easements to protect farmland and make it more accessible 
• Network with farmers, aspiring farmers, and landowners in your region
• Tour a farm or ag-related business that is either interested in providing farmland access or has been through a recent transfer of ownership

The goal of the event is to connect beginning farmers with retiring farmers and make sure they both have the financial and technical resources to get farmland to the next generation of farmers! This event will be held at My MN Farmer, 35100 191st Ave, Montgomery, as they are hoping to make their land and infrastructure available to the next generation of sustainable farmers. The first half of the event will feature presentations and Q&A with representatives from the Farm Service Agency (FSA), the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Compeer Financial and local estate planning lawyers. The second half of the event will be time for landowners and land seekers to engage in facilitated conversations about their wants, needs, and barriers for accessing or passing on farmland. The event will conclude with time for landowners and land seekers to network about accessing farmland in south central Minnesota. This event is a great opportunity for people at any point in their farm transition and farmland access journey!
