The North Ridge Recreation Area is the City's newest and largest park.  Located at 1305 Prairie Street NW, this 56-acre park has over 2 miles of hiking, snow shoeing and cross country ski trails cut throughout the park.  For a map of the current trails, click here.  This park also provides picnic tables throughout, to rest and relax while enjoying the hiking trails.

As the snow begins to fly, remember to also utilize our dedicated sledding hill for some winter weather fun!  The sledding hill is just west of the parking lot. The sledding area is designated in winter with fencing and other barriers. While enjoying the hill, we also ask that residents adhere to the following rules:

  • Respect the residents in the neighborhood. Stay off their property and keep noise to a minimum.
  • Use the sledding hill only during daylight hours; no sledding after dusk.
  • Children are to be supervised by adults.
  • Do not alter the sledding hill by constructing jumps, bumps, or other obstructions.
  • Only slide in the designated areas and return to the top of the hill via designated area.
  • Parents of young children should consider having their child wear a helmet.
  • Do not use sleds that are hard to control such as tubes, saucers, discs, etc.
  • Most importantly, while sledding is a fun and exciting winter activity, injuries can happen. Please use caution and be considerate of others on the hill.
